Ring lock keepers who tell us we'll have to 'punch the flood' to get off the river! No idea what they mean but it sounds hard...We dodge the rain and hang about til 5 when we're let on to tidal thames. Its very high spring tides, water over roads, sun comes out and we pass richmond and kew on a gorgeous evening. No better way to get to london. Tide whipping out as we get to brentford but we make the turn fine. Back on the canal it seems so slow. Need reminding what i do for a livin!
