Oxford - Sun decides to show its face again, canal meets up with the River Cherwell so we get our first taste of river navigation. Finally feels like we're making some headway (right).

Coming in to Oxford the going is slow cos of all the boats. The pleasure boater will find the natives are strangley mixed in these parts. At one lock, arriving in the town we were aided by some very friendly dwarfs who helped tremendously but had to eventually be shooed away with sticks(left). Further on our entrance to Oxford was heralded by a gent with girls hair and a beard telling us not to get so close to his boat, to 'hit the trees next time or we'll hit you'. They certainly are a strange bunch for gap year idiots and the future rulers of the land. Yours faithfully, uncle travelling Matt.
