Jake trained in Theatre and Visual Performance at Dartington College of Arts, graduating in 1995.

Since then he has taken part in workshops with DV8, IOU and Natural Theatre Co.

In 2000 he spent two weeks in Sofia with Kremena Stancheva of Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares learning Bulgarian folk song.
